Tools that work with CrewAI

A Python framework for orchestrating role based autonomous agents in Crews and event driven Flows.

Every pairing below carries a compatibility record backed by an evidence page: the package, docs page, or MCP path that proves the connection. Pairings are grouped by connection type first, because that decides how much integration work you own. A tool missing here is unverified by AgentsUse, not incompatible. Read the CrewAI profile for setup and scope before choosing.

Built into the framework

First-party support that ships with the framework itself or its vendor packages.

Web Data and Document ExtractionFirecrawlA web data API that searches, scrapes, and crawls sites into clean markdown and structured output for AI agents. Built in by the framework vendor via crewai_tools FirecrawlScrapeWebsiteTool (crewai[tools]). The CrewAI docs page documents FirecrawlScrapeWebsiteTool, requires FIRECRAWL_API_KEY and installs the Firecrawl SDK with the crewai[tools] package.Search and Retrieval APIsTavilyA web access API built for AI agents: search, extract, map, crawl, and research endpoints behind one key. Built in by the framework vendor via crewai_tools TavilySearchTool. The CrewAI docs page documents TavilySearchTool as an interface to the Tavily Search API for CrewAI agents and shows installation with crewai[tools] and tavily-python.Search and Retrieval APIsExaA search API for AI: natural-language queries over an index built for agents, with content returned in model-ready shapes. Built in by the framework vendor via crewai_tools EXASearchTool. The crewai-tools PyPI page lists EXASearchTool under API Integrations in the CrewAI tools collection.Browser AutomationStagehandA browser agent SDK that extracts data and interacts with any site through act, observe, and extract calls. Built in by the framework vendor via crewai_tools StagehandTool. The crewai-tools PyPI page lists StagehandTool among AI powered tools in the CrewAI tools collection.Browser AutomationSeleniumThe long-running open-source WebDriver standard for driving real browsers, now adding WebDriver BiDi for event-driven control. Built in by the framework vendor via crewai_tools SeleniumScrapingTool. The crewai-tools PyPI page lists SeleniumScrapingTool under Web Scraping in the CrewAI tools collection.Search and Retrieval APIsBrave Search APIAn independent search index exposed as APIs for web, news, images, video, places, and LLM-ready context for agent grounding. Built in by the framework vendor via crewai_tools BraveSearchTool. A fetched CrewAI repository issue prints the crewai_tools import list and includes BraveSearchTool, BrowserbaseLoadTool, ApifyActorsTool and ComposioTool.Browser AutomationBrowserbaseA cloud platform that gives agents browsers to drive, plus search, fetch, and a runtime for running them. Built in by the framework vendor via crewai_tools BrowserbaseLoadTool. The same fetched CrewAI repository issue import list includes BrowserbaseLoadTool in crewai_tools.Tool Integration PlatformsComposioTool platform for AI agents with pre-authenticated toolkits, per-user sessions, managed authentication, triggers, and a sandboxed workbench across a large app catalog. Built in by the framework vendor via crewai_tools ComposioTool. The fetched CrewAI repository issue import list includes ComposioTool in crewai_tools.

How to choose from this list

Start from the job, not the framework: find the tool whose limitations you can live with, then check how it connects. Native and official adapter paths usually mean the pairing is maintained by someone whose roadmap you can read. Community adapters and API-only options shift the maintenance to your team. When two tools both fit, prefer the one whose integration page shows a configuration you can run unchanged, and keep a person reviewing the first outputs the pairing produces.
